In this course, students will explore the issues related to the development of addictions, including the effects, signs and symptoms, and response. In addition, students will develop a greater understanding of the differences between Mental Health, Mental Illness and Mental Disorders. Finally, students will examine concurrent disorders, a term used when a person has both a substance related disorder and a mental health disorder.

Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
