PFPR Police Foundations

Law and order

Law enforcement in Canada is becoming more complex every year. If you are considering a career as a police officer or related field, you'll find Georgian's Police Foundations program a great choice. Our program has been developed jointly between the Police Learning System Advisory Committee and the Ontario Ministry of Education and Training. As a graduate of this two-year program, you will have the knowledge and skills to meet the proposed Ontario Constable Selection Standards.

What's Special

As a student, you'll learn about the major issues confronting modern policing systems. In your second year, you'll focus on specific policing skills, such as investigation techniques, police powers, community policing and ethics. Our courses are taught by faculty who are seasoned professionals. Many guest speakers and field trips keep you in touch with what's happening in the criminal justice field.

Careers

Many of our graduates are working in police services across Ontario and Canada, including the OPP, municipal service, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and the Canadian Armed Forces. Others have found rewarding careers in by-law enforcement, private police and investigation, campus police, and asset management protection.
