The Complaints Resolution procedure governs the behaviour under the Ontario Human Rights Code of all members of the Georgian College community. All College community members are subject to this procedure while they are on any College campus, off-campus on College business and/or while participating in College events.

Georgian College upholds the position of the Ontario Human Rights Code, which states that it is public policy in Ontario to recognize the dignity and worth of every person and to provide for equal rights and opportunities without discrimination on certain prohibited grounds. The code provides that every person has the right to equal treatment in the provision of services, accommodation, matters of contract, employment and membership in trade unions and professional associations.

Students and employees have the right to study and learn in an environment free from harassment and discrimination related to any grounds of the Ontario Human Rights Code including race, ancestry, place of origin, colour, ethnic origin, citizenship, creed, sex, sexual orientation, age, marital status, family status, record of offences, mental or physical disability. For further information on this policy, please refer to the Human Resources Policy.
