Director, Food and Beverage Sustainability – Marriott International
In his 14 plus years with Marriott International, Andrew has received multiple promotions taking him from front-line supervisor at a single hotel to his current position as Director, Food and Beverage Sustainability, with responsibilities for Marriott International’s global sustainability operations including keeping the company’s more than 3,400 worldwide properties current and innovative, from menus and training to environmental advancements. Marriott International has 3,400 hotels worldwide in 68 countries, with approximately 137,000 employees and with sales reported in 2009 of more than $11 billion.

Research Consultant, Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board
Jeff Cole is the sole Research and Evaluation Consultant employed by the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board. He has built on his nine years teaching secondary school Math and Computer Science with a new career in research, without abandoning his love of the classroom. He chose Georgian College’s Research Analyst Post-Graduate program and rekindled his passion for education. Jeff sees his role as providing a vital function in supporting teachers and students in their learning. Jeff volunteers with Habitat for Humanity in Orillia and Barrie, the Association of Educational Researchers of Ontario (AERO), and other professional organizations.

Winner of 2009 Board of Governors’ Distinguished Alumni Award
Since 2006, Dianne Martin has been Executive Director of the Registered Practical Nurses’ Association of Ontario, whose mandate is to advocate on behalf of the province’s 30,000 Registered Practical Nurses. Beyond overseeing the organization’s day-to-day operation, Dianne provides leadership and vision regarding the roles of Ontario’s health care team. As both an RN and an RPN, Dianne brings a unique understanding to her position. Previously, Dianne was seconded to the Ontario Ministry of Health as Senior Policy Analyst, assisting in developing new policies covering provincial nursing practice. Prior to undertaking administrative roles, Dianne spent 26 years in bedside nursing.

Associate Director, Olympic Services for Bell Canada
Winner of 2008 Board of Governors’ Distinguished Alumni Award
After graduating from Georgian College’s Electronics Engineering Technology program in 1982, Greg Davey was immediately hired by Bell Canada. He designed Bell’s National Video network that today carries the majority of video traffic in Canada. An expert in connectivity, Greg led the Bell technology team as the Host Broadcaster for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. Over 3.5 billion people worldwide were able to tune in Olympic coverage 24/7 over 17 days with not one missed second. The Vancouver Winter Olympics broadcast was 28 per cent bigger for bandwidth connectivity than Beijing, making it the biggest broadcast event in history.

Winner of 2010 Board of Governors’ Distinguished Alumni Award
In the 2016 and 2020 Olympics, if Canadians make the medal podium, they likely will have Mike Kelly to thank. Mike has turned golf from a popular game into a recognized sport within Canada’s school system. In his position at the Golf Association of Ontario, he developed the National Golf in Schools program, now approved as a Physical Health in Education offering with a learning resource curriculum for grades 1 to 6. He created a High Performance program providing training and coaching for promising Ontario juniors and amateurs. He has also developed a Coach Development program, a first in Canada.

After graduating Queen’s University, Sean worked at ClubLink in Port Elgin, directing Food and Beverage Operations before spending seven years in sales at Xerox, where he was a top performer. He then went to Halifax as Food and Beverage manager at a private club and hosted the 2005 LPGA Canadian Open. Whilst there he had his “Eureka” moment that resulted in the Golf Hunter. To achieve his dream, he attended Georgian College’s Business Administration – Professional Golf Management program, graduating in 2007. Golf Hunter Inc. connects individual golfers into “variable foursomes” and organizes tee times at his member home clubs.

Rose overcame a difficult childhood to get where she is today. Growing up in foster homes, the Barrie lawyer financed her college education by cleaning houses and checking coats at a local bar. In 1991, she was crowned Miss Black Ontario and entered law school as a mature student. She now runs her own family law and real estate practice. Adams has taught business courses at Georgian College and Ontario Business College and volunteers for non-profit community groups such as the Out of the Cold program. She served on the board of Big Brothers and the Simcoe Literacy Network.

Stephen Flowers, President of the UPS Americas Region, is responsible for all UPS package operations in Canada and more than 50 countries and territories across Latin America and the Caribbean. Prior to taking on the region’s highest post, Flowers was UPS’s West Europe District Manager, where he oversaw the company’s operations in France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Switzerland. Stephen began his career with UPS in 1981 as a loader/unloader while at Georgian College. Stephen has served on the board of directors for the United Way of Long Island, New York and the American Chamber of Commerce in Paris.
