In the 2016 and 2020 Olympics, if Canadians make the medal podium, they likely will have Mike Kelly to thank. Mike has turned golf from a popular game into a recognized sport within Canada’s school system. In his position at the Golf Association of Ontario, he developed the National Golf in Schools program, now approved as a Physical Health in Education offering with a learning resource curriculum for grades 1 to 6. He created a High Performance program providing training and coaching for promising Ontario juniors and amateurs. He has also developed a Coach Development program, a first in Canada.
