  • What are the admission requirements for a student coming from out of province?
    • Information for admission requirements for out-of-province students is found on the Admissions Information page, under the heading "Studied Outside of Ontario or Canada?"
  • When can I start the program?
    • The normal start date for most students is September. However, you may be allowed to start in January or May under certain circumstances. Contact the program co‑ordinator.
  • What will I have when I graduate?
    • Ontario College Advanced Diploma with 36 credit courses (compared to only 30 credit courses for a B.A.), 15 hours in the air, plus one year of work experience in the aviation industry
  • How do I apply?
  • I am currently attending another college/university. Can I come to the Aviation Management program?
    • Exemptions will be offered depending on the college/university program that you are taking or have completed. The details for exemptions are dealt with on an individual basis. The students who come to the CAvI with previous education are considered "Fast-Trackers" and may be able to complete the program in less than 3 years
  • What is the deadline for applications?
    • Application deadlines are listed on the OCAS (Ontario College Application Service) web site.
  • How much is tuition?
  • How do I get a tour of the Canadian Aviation Institute?
    • If you would like to come and visit the CAvI for a tour, please contact (705) 722-5129 to set up a date and time. The tours can be flexible to your schedule.
  • Can I sit in on some classes?
  • Is there financial aid available?
  • Can I get scholarships?
    • Scholarships are available to our students and come in the form of entrance, undergraduate and graduate awards. Detailed information on scholarships that are offered to Aviation Management students is listed on the Entrance Awards and Scholarship page.
  • What are the cost of books?
    • Be prepared to spend approximately $800 - 900/year on books. Used books are available on campus as well. Be careful to double-check the edition number of the used book you are buying. It may have changed from last year.
  • What is housing like in Barrie?
    • Barrie is a city of 100, 000+ people. Housing can be tricky to find if it is left until the last minute. Take a look at the Student Living page for residence and housing information.
  • Do I have to work in Barrie on co-op?
    • Co-op work terms can be done in Barrie, Toronto, out of province or even out of country. If you choose to return to your home province for a co‑op job, that is your choice.
