NOTICE REGARDING GEORGIAN’S ENDOWMENTS

Despite a downturn in the economy, the majority of Georgian’s awards and scholarships are still fully funded by generous supporters, and available to students. While some Colleges and Universities are suspending a number of awards, Georgian is proud to be able to continue to disburse over 97 per cent of its total awards and scholarships. However we will be suspending 39 endowed scholarships that do not have sufficient funds to disburse this year. We will be monitoring this over the coming months as the market condition improves. Thank you to our dedicated donors for continuing to help our students reach their academic goals.

  • Returning students – undergraduate awards
  • Graduating students – graduate awards

Grades are just one part of the equation when it comes to being chosen for an award or scholarship. Community and school involvement count too! Georgian bases their selection decisions on the entire student, so when considering which awards to apply for, remember ALL of your successes.

Awards and scholarships are awarded to students based on differing criteria such as:

  • academic success
  • practical skills
  • contributions to student life and community
  • financial need

Helpful hints for success:

  • Make sure you meet the eligibility criteria for the award you are applying for.
  • Keep the application neat and easy to read.
  • Include all of you accomplishments. Now is not the time for modesty!
  • You can never win too many awards. So apply to as many as you are eligible for.
  • An updated portfolio makes the application process easier for you.
  • Proof read, proof read and proof read again.
