Oshawa, ON – The Georgian Grizzlies defeated the Durham Lords 3-0 (25-20, 25-20, 25-21) to finish in seventh place at the Adidas Cup women’s volleyball tournament hosted by Durham College.
During round robin pool play, the Grizzlies defeated the eventual tournament finalists, the Cambrian Golden Shield 2-0 (28-26, 25-21), split with the Mohawk Mountaineers (15-25, 25-13) and the Fleming Knights (25-18, 25-27), and lost to the tournament champion Humber Hawks (25-12, 25-16) and the St. Clair Saints (25-23, 25-21). Georgian finished in fourth place in their pool with a 4-6 record.
The Grizzlies start off the second semester of league play with a home game against the Seneca Sting on Wednesday night. The Grizzlies are 6-4, while the Sting have a 5-5 record.
