LONDON, Ont. – At the Fanshawe College Kick-Off Tournament, the Georgian Grizzlies men’s volleyball team finished in 4th place after dropping the bronze medal game to the St. Clair Saints in three-sets (25-18, 17-25, 18-16).
Earlier in the day, the Grizzlies defeated the Fanshawe Alumni in two-sets (26-24, 25-22) to advance to the semi-finals. In the semi-finals, the Mohawk Mountaineers proved to be too tough, knocking off Georgian in two-sets (25-18, 25-21).
Mike Hammond, making his return appearance in a Grizzly uniform after spending two years at Thompson Rivers University, was named to the tournament all-star team.
Up next for the Grizzlies is an exhibition match in Toronto on October 12th against the George Brown Huskies.
