Belleville, ON – The Georgian Grizzlies fell 62-14 to the Loyalist Lancers in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) rugby semi-finals played this afternoon at Loyalist College.
The Lancers jumped out to a 19-0 lead, before a try by Georgian’s Austin St. Amant, that was converted by Perry Coldrick, got the Grizzlies on the board before half-time.
Unfortunately the Grizzlies could not carry the momentum into the second half, as the Lancers outscored Georgian 43-7 in the final 40 minutes. Mike Tempera scored Georgian’s try in the second half.
The Grizzlies still have an opportunity to finish their season on a good note in next weekend’s OCAA bronze medal game as they take on the St. Lawrence Vikings in Kingston on Saturday, November 12th at 1:00 p.m.
