Grizzlies Split with Lords

Barrie, ON – The Georgian Grizzlies split with the Durham Lords in the home opener for men’s and women’s basketball on Wednesday night at Georgian College.Durham’s Erin Emery scored 20 of her game-high 27 points in the second half, as the Lords edged the Grizzlies 56-53. Georgian led 50-46 with 2 minutes remaining, but Durham went on a game-ending 10-3 run to take home the victory.

Megan Robertson and Danielle Horvat scored 14 points apiece and Kara Faulkner added 13 for the Grizzlies, who fall to 1-2 in league play.

The Georgian men defeated Durham 79-66. Ben Dance the Grizzlies’ top scorer with 20 points. Jevon Francis had a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Mark Brown added 15 points to go along with his 5 assists and 4 steals.

The Grizzlies improve to 2-1 and will host the Centennial Colts on Saturday, November 12th.
