LONDON, Ont. – The Georgian Grizzlies women’s volleyball team picked up a bronze medal at the Fanshawe Kick-Off Tournament this weekend.
The Grizzlies, playing in their first event of the year, went 2-1 in pool play, defeating Mohawk (25-20, 22-25, 15-9) and St. Clair (22-25, 25-19, 15-9) and losing to Fanshawe (22-25, 15-25).
In the semi-finals, the ladies dropped another match to the host Falcons, but bounced back to defeat the Seneca Sting in the bronze medal game.
Hannah Campbell and Kelsey Buckley were named to the tournament all-star team.
The team will break for Thanksgiving before heading down to Toronto on October 12th to take on the George Brown Huskies in exhibition play.
