Barrie, ON – The Georgian Grizzlies men’s volleyball team picked up two victories in their first homestand of the season.
Against the Cambrian Golden Shield on Saturday, senior Mike Hammond had 21 points (17 kills, 2 aces, 2 blocks) to lead his team to the straight set victory, 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-18). Josh Deppisch had 10 points (7 kills, 1 ace, 2 blocks) and Andy Carriere added 9 (7 kills, 1 ace, 1 block).
Hammond led the way once again against the Boreal Vipers on Sunday afternoon, racking up 23 points (17 kills, 2 aces, 4 blocks), as the Grizzlies won 3-1 (20-25, 25-18, 25-23, 25-22). Deppisch picked up 9 points (8 kills, 1 block) against his former team.
Georgian’s league record now stands at 2-1.
