Services for Students

Looking for a summer job? You may qualify for Summer Jobs Service.

Benefits:

  • make it easy for an employer to hire you: if you qualify for this program, your employer receives an hourly wage subsidy
  • help with job search skills and referrals to employers
  • customer service training

To qualify for Summer Jobs Service you must be:

  • 15 to 24 years old (to 29 if disabled)
  • planning to return to school in the fall (If you are not returning to school, you may qualify for Job Connect, a program for 16 to 24 year olds who are out of school and job hunting)
  • a resident of Ontario and eligible to work in Canada

Services for Employers

Hiring students this summer? Call Summer Jobs Service first:

  • If you hire qualifying students for summer jobs, you may be eligible for an hourly wage subsidy.
  • We save you time and costs by helping to recruit the students you need, students who are ready and willing to work this summer
  • Most students receive customer service training before coming to work for you
  • The program is open to employers in the private, non-profit and broader public sector (municipalities, schools, hospitals).

Employers must apply for the wage subsidy before hiring students.
