Training and Licensing for the Can-Am Spyder

Can-Am Spyder Riding   DRVR 0033


Starts June 10, 2014 and runs every second Tuesday during the season from 6 – 8 p.m.

Think three wheels, not two! Test drive a Can-Am Spyder in our training lot. In this 2-hour session, learn how to operate, brake, and control a Can-Am Spyder and then take one for a drive, under the supervision of certified instructors, on a closed course. No license is required for the test drive.  Minimum age is 21.

Can-Am Spyder roadsters will be provided.

Full riding gear is required:

  • DOT-approved helmet
  • Heavy, long-sleeve jacket
  • Long pants (jeans)
  • Gloves
  • Low-heeled boots that cover the ankle

Rider Training Basic – Can-Am Spyder (with licensing)   DRVR 0031


Rider Training Basic is designed to teach the novice or experienced rider how to ride a 3-wheeled motorcycle. This 10-hour course takes the rider through basic skills training including turning skills, shifting through gears, effective braking, and controlling vehicle speed. Includes classroom learning and riding skill practice in the training lot on a Can-Am Spyder. Skill evaluation is conducted at the end of the course by MTO-approved Signing Authorities.

Can-Am Spyder roadsters will be provided.

Riders who successfully complete the training course and the final test will be eligible to receive an M2(M) license.

Participants are required to hold an M1 permit prior to registering for this course.
