<p>Offered in conjunction with the Ontario Handweavers and Spinners (OHS), these courses will appeal to those with some weaving experience who wish to become more proficient weavers.</p>
<p>The 18 different courses each deal in-depth with an aspect of handweaving. Students who successfully complete all 18 courses will receive a certificate from the OHS. Each class has assignments which students will have to submit within four months of completing the classroom portion of the course. In order to receive recognition for completing the course, assignments must be completed successfully. Each student will receive a numeric grade for completed assignments.</p>
<h3>Requirements</h3>
<p>A student must be a member of the Ontario Handweavers and Spinners in the year in which a unit is studied. Each student must have the ability and knowledge to wind a warp, dress a loom and weave plain and twill weaves before taking any unit.</p>
<p>Courses can be taken in any order although it is strongly recommended that Weaving 1 and Weaving 2 to be completed first.</p>
<p>Students are required to bring their own table loom to class. A materials list of materials student must supply will be provided prior to each course start date.</p>

<p>In collaboration with<a href="http://www.bcit.ca/">BCIT</a> (British Columbia Institute of Technology), Georgian College offers complete Hydronics training. The program is designed to provide the technical knowledge and skills required to install and service complete hydronic systems. Many tradespeople working in the hydronic heating industry have taken training in the traditional fields of plumbing, pipe fitting, gas fitting, air conditioning/refrigeration but lack the high degree of specialized skills and technical knowledge needed to work in the hydronic field. Hydronic heating in the domestic/commercial market continues to experience rapid growth demanding an expanded workforce.<span id="more-258"></span></p>

<p>In partnership with <a href="http://www.carsondunlop.com/">Carson Dunlop and Associates</a>, we offer the Home Inspection Training program. This program incorporates the Standards of Practice of ASHI/CAHPI (American Society of Home Inspectors/Canadian Association of Home and Property Inspectors) . The Standards of Practice define a minimum and uniform standard for private, fee-paid home inspectors. The <a href="http://www.carsondunlop.com/">Carson Dunlop and Associates</a> program fully complies with ASHI curriculum and Standards of Practice. This program also conforms to the Professional Home/Property Inspector Occupational Standards developed by the Canadian Home Inspectors and Building Officials Steering Committee for National Standards (CHIBO).<span id="more-256"></span></p>

<p><strong>Recommended Requirements: </strong>Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent</p>

<p class="note">Each course is comprised of a maximum of 45 hours (includes exam). Students must attend a minimum of seven classes, held on campus every second week. Self-study is required on alternate weeks.</p>
