Apprenticeship
Apprenticeship is a workplace-based training program. About 90 percent of apprenticeship training is provided in the workplace under the supervision of skilled tradespeople, while the remainder involves classroom instruction, which is usually given at a local community college.
Georgian College is contracted by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU) to deliver the in-school portion of the apprenticeships listed below.

Interested in apprenticeship training?
- Step One: Find an employer who will agree to hire and train you.
- Step Two: Together with your employer, you will meet with a MTCU training consultant who determines whether the agreed-upon training will meet all apprenticeship requirements.
Working with your employer or sponsor and MTCU, you will complete your on-the-job training and your in-school training at Georgian College. MTCU will determine when you will attend your in-school training.
