WASTE REDUCTION/DIVERSION EFFORTS

• Paper reduction strategy converting internal newsletters to an electronic format and implementing a two-sided print standard
• Faculty working to reduce paper use in courses with online posting of materials and requesting students to submit paperless assignments. Savings from reduced paper use reinvested into purchasing a paper stock with higher post-consumer content, saving trees and reducing energy and water use
• Employees collect sheets from outdated automated marking system for reuse as “Trashy Notes” notebooks sold in Georgian College bookstores, with proceeds returned to students for green initiatives on campus [...]
