“The mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be kindled” – Plutarch

Each new year, college students face any number of common issues or obstacles.  High school graduates as well as mature workers returning to school who did not have parents who attended post-secondary school are called “First Generation” students.  First Generation students in particular have mentors in place to learn how to overcome these questions/concerns.

We can help you connect with services for the following:

  • Assistance with writing, computers and/or math including peer tutoring
  • Financial aid applications for bursaries and scholarships, including ones for First Generation students specifically
  • Disability supports and student supports, including counselling
  • Information on student benefits
  • General questions about where to go and who to see regarding questions you might have
  • Housing and parking questions
  • Workshops on a variety of topics to help make your experience at college an enriching and positive one (student budgeting, time management, stress management, improving your study skills and so on)

Not sure if there is something in place to deal with an issue or question you have?  Speak to us and see.  We’re here to support you.

“The beginning of knowledge is the discovery of something we do not understand.” – Frank Herbert

“If I have seen farther it is only by standing on the shoulders of giants.” – Sir Isaac Newton
