Georgian College is pleased to announce, the Government of Ontario has allocated bursary funding to assist First Generation Students in financial need through the Ministry of Training, Colleges & Universities, Access and Opportunities Strategy. Here at Georgian we’re committed to helping first generation students achieve their educational goals by breaking down the barriers — be they financial, personal or academic.
Last Year’s Value: 50 Bursaries @ $1,000
First Generation Bursary Eligibility Criteria:
- You must be a student whose parents have never attended fulltime or part-time post-secondary studies in Canada or elsewhere
- You must be an OSAP recipient
- You must be enrolled fulltime in the current academic year of study and be in good academic standing
- You must be returning to fulltime study at Georgian College for the winter or summer semester
- You must demonstrate a financial need on the budget provided in the application
- You must complete the Ontario First Generation application
Application deadline for the First Generation bursary is the last business day in January.
