Applying to the Fundraising and Resource Development Program:

Program Admission Requirements: Applicants to the Fundraising & Resource Development Program must hold a college diploma or university degree, or equivalent. Strong communications skills are required. and proficiency in word processing and computer skills are recommended.  Applicants lacking a college diploma, university degree, or equivalent may be considered based on CFRE designation (Certified Fund Raising Executive) OR a combination of post-secondary education and related work experience (minimum three years full-time paid experience working in a non-profit environment) and demonstrated achievement of post-secondary level competencies.

HOW TO APPLY:

ALL APPLICANTS to the program must submit the following information to the admissions officer (see contact information below):

  1. A resume that lists your work experience, education history and volunteer activities. Please ensure that your resume details your proficiency in computer applications.
  2. A typed informative essay. This essay will respond to the following questions (approximately one to two short paragraphs per question):
    • What is the basis for your interest in fundraising?
    • What personal assets and strengths do you bring to the program and ultimately the field of fundraising?
    • Describe an occasion in your life or work experiences in which you were involved in a fundraising activity.
  3. An application for admission:
    • Full-time applicants (only) must apply online through Ontario Colleges.ca at www.ontariocolleges.ca . (Follow Ontario Colleges instructions on submitting your official transcripts). When completing your Ontario Colleges application, please note that the college code for Georgian is “GEOR”, Orillia campus code is “OR”, and program code for Fundraising & Resource Development Program is “FUND”.  Be sure to follow instructions carefully around requesting transcripts for previous diplomas/degrees.

  4. Official Transcripts: Full-time applicants must request a transcript as part of the application process through Ontario Colleges.  Part-time students must submit an official transcript, which must be sent directly from their post-secondary institution to the Pam Whittle-Cutler, Registrar’s Office .
  5. Students without academic requirements must also provide the following in advance of registration:  Proof of CFRE designation OR partial transcripts and proof of minimum of three years current employment in the non-profit sector, two letters of reference and if required, a brief portfolio demonstrating achievement of post-secondary level competencies.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS must apply directly to Georgian College and complete the Georgian College International Student Application Form. See the International Centre website, www.georgianc.on.ca/international/admissions for more information.
