How Can You Get Involved?<br />
PARTICIPATE: Take part in a Day of Caring! Get together with a group of your peers and work with a non-profit agency or neighbourhood group to complete a much-needed project or hold a special event. Projects are one or two day tasks and can be anything from building a playground, painting a fence, planting a garden, washing windows or cleaning up. This is a great opportunity to work with United Way agency partners and make a visible and valuable contribution to the communities they serve. You can get involved in the planning and coordination of the event or simply attend the Day of Caring and have fun!</p>
<p>VOLUNTEER: Work with United Way&#8217;s community investment team to play an essential role in the process of renewing funding agreements, reviewing requests for increases and evaluating new initiatives. You will be assigned to at least one existing or potential agency partner during your term. Along with other volunteers and United Way staff, you will meet with your assigned agency approximately once a year to review recent progress and activities. This is a great way to share existing knowledge and skills and enhance and develop your leadership, problem solving and analysis skills.<br />
DONATE: Get involved in planning a fundraising event for NextGen . Participate in your workplace campaign and take advantage of the ability to donate through payroll deduction. If your employer doesn&#8217;t yet conduct a workplace campaign, start one up!<br />

<p>Duties &#038; Responsibilities:<br />
Under the direction of the Manager of Resource Development the incumbent will focus on generating revenue through the implementation of a fundraising plan. Specific duties will include:</p>
<p>.Engaging in all aspects of fundraising including prospect research, cultivation, stewardship and face to face solicitation of alumni using moves management;<br />
.Maintaining an assigned list of alumni donors and prospects for the purpose of securing financial support;<br />
.Developing strategies to engage numerous daily / monthly contacts including donor visits and proposals;<br />
.Participate in all aspects of the gift cycle including:<br />
.Initiating dialogue with prospective donors;<br />
.Formulating individual strategies for all prospects including planned giving options when appropriate;<br />
.Making solicitations when appropriate;<br />
.Providing appropriate donor recognition and stewardship;<br />
.Documenting  results;<br />
.Assisting with recruiting and providing guidance to volunteers to assist in strategic cultivation and solicitation activities.<br />
.Communicating with Alumni regarding the benefits and services offered by the association, opportunities to stay engaged with the growth and progress of the College;<br />
.Assisting with editorial content of the Loop e-newsletter and the Georgian View Magazine;<br />
.Participating in the planning and organizing special events such as the annual alumni weekend, workplace connections and community events for the purpose of engaging with alumni to establish opportunities for alumni gifts;<br />
.Participating in College and Community events as required;<br />
.Working in collaboration with the Donor Relations Coordinator ensuring the alumni database is current and utilized for communication opportunities;<br />
.Assisting with the design / production of reports for the alumni Association, Board of Director;<br />

<p>Qualifications:<br />

<p>.A three-year post-secondary diploma / degree in Communications, Marketing, or Fundraising.<br />
.Minimum of 3 years experience in a related field directly related to generating revenue.<br />
.Demonstrated revenue results in fundraising.<br />
.Experience in stewardship and face to face solicitation.<br />
.Experience planning and organizing special events.<br />
.Experience working in an environment that required strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and meet critical deadlines.<br />
.Experience working with and providing guidance to volunteers.<br />
.Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint), internet and Outlook.<br />
.Experience working with databases and working knowledge of fundraising software preferably Raisers&#8217; Edge.<br />
.Excellent interpersonal communication skills both written and oral in order to communicate effectively with the public and to assist with editorial content as required.<br />
.Ability to travel and work occasional evenings and weekends as required.</p>

<h3> Database and Donor Services (60%)</h3>
<ul>
<li>Plans, develops, implements and manages the ongoing integrity, accuracy and security of NAAF’s Development/Organizational Database.</li>
<li>Provides support in development and ongoing implementation of database policies, standard procedures and best practices, including security and legislative measures and management.</li>
<li>Maintains knowledge of and trains other NAAF staff as needed to ensure protocols and procedures for the database are being followed.</li>
<li>Generates queries, prepares analyses and provides appropriate reports to department’s Vice President, NAAF’s CEO, Board of Directors and other departments using spreadsheets and other applications, information tools and techniques.</li>
<li>Tracks donor and sponsor contact information as required in the database and manages timely production of regular or custom reports.</li>
<li>Processes all donations and sponsorships in the database, enters all data, coding, receipting and acknowledgement letters for all records in keeping with NAAF’s policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Conducts analysis and evaluation of the database and recommends changes as required. Supervises volunteer data entry clerks as required.</li>
<li>Ensures that the proper relationships between database records are recorded including corporate master records and subsidiaries, between individuals such as business and personal relationships, etc.</li>
<li>Actively seeks updates to constituent records through donor/sponsor contact, searches online and other methods when addresses are identified as inactive.</li>
<li>Works closely with the Senior Development Officer, Individual Giving and Donor Relations to provide administrative and database support to broad-based annual or planned giving campaigns directed at individuals.</li>
<li>Ensures all staff members have username and passwords created for access to the organization’s database, creates new records as required, and acts as the liaison for donations processing with the Finance and Administration Dept. including adding new account information.</li>
</ul>
<p> <strong>Administration (40%)</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Provides clerical and administrative support to the Vice President of Development and the Development Office, including scheduling, faxing, photocopying, filing, completing and submitting expense reports for the Vice President of Development and the Development Office staff, maintaining policies and procedures manuals for fundraising.</li>
<li>Prepares VISA reconciliations for the Vice President of Development.</li>
<li>Makes travel arrangements for the Vice President of Development and other Development staff as required.</li>
<li>Coordinates and attends regular and special staff meetings for Development Office, distributes agendas in advance of meetings, prepares minutes for meetings and distributes to attendees.</li>
<li>May be requested to assist other Development staff at times including administrative and sales support for NAAA ticket sales and other event related development activities such as RSVPs, catering requirements, etc.</li>
<li>Coordinates development related meetings with senior volunteers, NAAF Board members, prospects and other relevant stakeholders including booking meeting times, meeting location and coordinating necessary meeting requirements such as audio visual, catering, etc.</li>
<li>Assists with the preparation of briefing notes on donors and prospects and other material required for prospect meetings for the VP of Development and other NAAF staff as required.</li>
<li>Creates and maintains hard copy files that mirror database information for all corporate donors, prospects and sponsors for the Development Office. Ensures that all correspondence is copied to the files and key publicly available information about donors is clipped and filed in the appropriate files.</li>
<li>Assists the Development Associate, Corporate Relations and Operations with the timely distribution of stewardship reports, letters, etc. for donors and sponsors.</li>
<li>Other administrative duties as assigned to ensure the smooth and successful operation of the Development Office.</li>
</ul>
<p> <strong>Qualifications</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Completion of a college diploma or degree preferred plus a minimum of 1 year experience in a non-profit fundraising department or in a similar environment.</li>
<li>Basic knowledge of fundraising principles and experience working with fundraising software and/or contact databases is a requirement.</li>
<li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint</li>
<li>Occasional travel between Six Nations andTorontooffices is required.</li>
<li>Ability to work with sensitive information with complete confidentiality.</li>
<li>Ability to work in French is an asset.</li>
<li>Must be able to work occasional evening and weekends and possess a willingness to travel occasionally withinCanada.</li>
<li>Knowledge of the Aboriginal community an asset.</li>

<p>For this special occasion, PCPC is seeking a fundraising coordinator who will help us to raise awareness within our community.</p>
<p>Work with Nancy Bradley, Executive Director to plan and develop fundraising&#8217;s activities around IYC 2012.</p>
<p>Perform other tasks as assigned to support organizational IYC initiatives.</p>
<p>QUALIFICATIONS:<br />
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work effectively with minimal supervision . Excellent problem solving skills and positive, flexible attitude . Strong inter-personal and teamwork skills, with a genuine enjoyment of working with various people and groups . Ease with establishing contacts and engaging partners or stakeholders . Strong oral and written communication skills . Advanced skills in MS Excel; proficiency in other MS Office programs (Outlook, Word) . Demonstrated ability to multitask and to work in a fast paced and co-operative environment . Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail . Experience with and/or knowledge of co-operatives is an asset</p>
<p>WORKING CONDITIONS: Depending on proximity to PCPC home office in Orillia, most of the work can be done electronically and via teleconference methods.</p>

The incumbent is responsible for maintaining and developing the Raiser&#8217;s Edge database used for tracking and recording of all alumni, donors, prospects, gifts, awards / scholarships, and event activities.  In addition, the incumbent is responsible for providing financial services to the department for donations, scholarships and endowments.  Duties include; but are not limited to the following:</p>

<div><span style="font-family: Times New Roman;">.Tracking information for alumni, donors, awards / scholarship and prospects using the Raiser&#8217;s Edge database;<br />
.Demonstrating the use of Raiser&#8217;s Edge to staff based on their needs;<br />
.Coordinating the quarterly transfer of graduate information from Banner (SIS, FIS) to Raiser&#8217;s Edge and performing mass database information as required;<br />
.Assessing the needs of the department and providing direction and assistance regarding system processes, reporting and system integration;<br />
.Providing financial services to the department and reports as required;<br />
.Prepares donor endowment reports, charitable returns, monthly revenue reports, Ontario Trust for Student Support reports;<br />
.Acting as the primary liaison to Blackbaud and IT for the department;<br />
.Tracking recognition fulfillment to identify trends to recommend stewardship and recognition programs;<br />
.Corresponding with donors to meet their donation requests;<br />
.Up keeping and maintaining the donor recognition wall(s);<br />
.Coordinating accurate processing of donations to the college;<br />
.Overseeing and verifying deposits, directing funds, creating reports for invoice schedules, overseeing tax receipting, assisting with the yearly audit and tracking of all gifts;<br />
.Sending out pledge and recurring gift reminders to donors;<br />
.Acting as a contact for questions from the public and college staff regarding donations, as well as fund balances, gift in kind, charitable tax regulations, events, bursary funds and fund transfers;<br />
.Monitoring annual award accounts and posts all cheques to student accounts weekly for disbursement of awards, scholarships and bursaries.<br />
.Providing support to the Development Office&#8217;s events by providing on-site assistance with registration, tracking participants and funds and generating revenue and expense reports;<br />
.Extracting and sorting alumni information from the database to assist with alumni appeals, partner mailing, reunions and campaign appeals.</span></div>

.Two-year post-secondary diploma in a related field with additional professional development relating to fundraising / resource development techniques.<br />

.Experience in a customer service environment, marketing, promotions and or accounting is an asset.<br />
.Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel and Access) with accurate data entry skills.<br />
.Knowledge of fundraising software, specifically Raiser&#8217;s Edge / Financial Edge is essential.<br />
.Strong understanding of accounting practices; analytical and detail oriented skills are required.<br />
.Knowledge of, and expertise in, the protection of confidential information.<br />
.Experience with Student and Financial Information Systems would be an asset.<br />
.The ability to work independently with demonstrated initiative, organization and time management skills.<br />

Want to learn how to harness use your communications and marketing skills to raise tons of money and awareness for a charity? We’d love for you to join us in 2011 to raise money and awareness for Amnesty International, a respected, credible human rights organisation that works to protect and promote human rights around the world!<strong>  </strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Summary</span>: Taste for Justice is an annual Amnesty International fundraising event through which restaurants across Canada pick a day in June from which to donate their choice of a percentage of sales towards Amnesty’s work on women’s human rights.</p>
<p> The Taste for Justice Restaurant Liaison represents Amnesty’s Taste for Justice in his/her city, and may work alone or as part of a team to bring local restaurants on board. S/he will build and manage relationships with participating restaurants. This responsibility involves approaching restaurateurs in person and pitching their participation using the tools provided. The Restaurant Liaison will follow up to confirm participation and remain the primary contact for all restaurants s/he approaches. Responsibilities include answering questions, taking orders for materials, thanking participants personally and picking up the cheque in the latter half of June.</p>
<p> The Restaurant Liaison is an outgoing, highly personable and professional individual with an interest and commitment to Amnesty International’s human rights work.</p>
<p> Location: Across Canada</p>
<p>Position open to: Amnesty members and non-members</p>
<p>Suitable for: Individuals and/or groups</p>
<p>Number of positions available: No limit</p>
<p>Time commitment: 4 hours per week at first, 6-10 hours each of the last two weeks.</p>
<p>Duration of appointment: January to June 2011</p>
<p>Application deadline: November 30, 2010</p>
<p> Responsibilities:</p>
<ul>
<li>Secure the participation of a restaurant (or more) in his/her city on a day in June and a percentage of sales that work for them. This involves approaching restaurateurs in person and pitching their participation using the tools provided.</li>
<li>Once restaurant(s) has been confirmed, maintain contact with the restaurant leading up to, on the day of, and right after the event to thank them and collect the money raised.</li>
<li>Ensure the display of Taste for Justice posters, flyers, tent cards promoting the day of participation 2 weeks prior to the event.</li>
<li>Approach local media (print, radio, tv) to try to get them to cover the event.</li>
<li>Be present at the restaurant the day of the event to help distribute materials and answer questions about Amnesty International.</li>
<li>Thank the restaurant after the event, and collect the money to mail back to the National Office, using the envelope provided, to: Taste for Justice, Amnesty International, 312 Laurier Ave E, Ottawa, ON, K1N 1H9.</li>
</ul>
<p> Requirements:</p>
<ul>
<li>Education: University degree <strong>or</strong> equivalent experience.</li>
<li>Experience: Ideally some experience in fundraising and/or marketing. Would require a background in donor, member or customer relations (face-to-face and by phone). </li>
<li>Basic understanding of and passion for Amnesty International’s human rights work.</li>
<li>Any established relationships or experience in the food industry is a <strong>great</strong> asset.</li>
<li>ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL: High competency in verbal and written communication, and an ability to communicate persuasively and diplomatically (excellent phone skills are <span style="text-decoration: underline;">a must</span>).</li>
<li>High comfort level in approaching fast-paced businesses, and persistence in following up.</li>
<li>Ability and eagerness to work with a wide variety of people and “publics”.</li>
<li>Must have access to a computer to use e-mail, the Internet, Microsoft Excel, printers and photocopiers.</li>
<li>Must be mobile or have easy access to transportation in order to visit restaurants.</li>
</ul>
