<p>The Student Administrative Council (SAC) of Georgian College announced on Monday it is donating more than $100,000 to the new John Di Poce South Georgian Bay Campus.</p>
<p> The announcement made during the grand opening ceremony, brings Georgian’s fundraising campaign for the new campus to 60 per cent of its $750,000 goal.</p>

<p>Sadlon’s donation brings the total raised for the Sadlon Centre for Health and Wellness, located at the Barrie Campus, to $14.5 million. Georgian had set a goal to raise $13.5 million to improve local health care education with this state-of-the-art 172,000-square-foot expansion.</p>
<p>“Health care professionals are a critical part of any community. As someone who has called Simcoe County home for more than 40 years, it is important to me to invest in the future of this community,” said Sadlon.</p>

<p>The donation has been made by <strong>Henry Bernick</strong>, an entrepreneur and Barrie’s first land developer, who has been instrumental in the growth of the local real estate market since the 1950s.  He has given the gift, which includes an additional $500,000 to create the <strong>Henry Bernick Entrepreneurship Centre</strong>, with a goal of supporting entrepreneurship education and encouraging innovation in his hometown. The Centre is set to open in January 2012.</p>
