Our annual fundraiser for student awards and scholarships, one of the longest-running golf tournaments in Simcoe County, has raised $840,000 to-date.
Money is raised through sponsorships, individual and team registrations, and an auction with items donated by Georgian’s industry partners, local businesses and generous staff and faculty members.
Here are just a couple of the great auction items up for grabs this year
One-on-one golf lesson with top PGA instructor Sean Foley
Sean Foley has worked with golf greats such as Tiger Woods, Hunter Mahan, Sean O’Hair and Stephen Ames.
The one-hour lesson for one will take place at Orange County Nationalin Orlando, Florida.
This is a one-week package for two people with flight and accommodation at Orange Lake Resorts. Up to four rounds of golf for two with carts are included.
The trip will take place during Georgian’s fall Study Week (third week in October); exact departure and return dates TBD.The winners will travel with second-year Bachelor of Business – Golf Management students as part of their annual trip.
One-week trip for two to St. Andrews, Scotland, the “home of golf”
This package includes flight and accommodation at The Old Course Hotel, which sits on the 17th “Road Hole” of the Old Course, and three rounds of golf.
The trip will take place during Georgian’s fall Study Week (third week in October); exact departure and return dates TBD. The winners will travel with third-year Bachelor of Business – Golf Management students as part of their annual trip.
Round of golf with gold medallist Jon Montgomery up for grabs at Golf Classic
The 25th Annual Georgian College Golf Classic is less than a week away from teeing off at The Club at Bond Head, and buzz continues to build.
A new auction item added this week is the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play a round of golf in Banff, Alberta with Olympic gold medallist and Canadian skeleton racer Jon Montgomery. Montgomery is also a Georgian alumni.
The package includes:
- Two nights accommodation at The Fairmont Banff Springs hotel on Saturday, July 7 and Sunday, July 8, 2012, for two people
- One round of golf for two with Jon Montgomery and his guest on Saturday, July 7 at The Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Resort
- Two return economy flights from Toronto to Calgary
