Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic

The Georgian Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic is a Government of Ontario initiative funded by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. The clinic will offer all of the services that patients expect from a family practice.

Each patient will have a nurse practitioner as his/her primary health care provider. Nurse practitioners are registered nurses with additional education and authority to diagnose illness/injury, order medical tests, treat a variety of illnesses, prescribe medications and monitor chronic medical conditions.

The dedicated clinic team currently includes nurse practitioners and an administrative team, but will expand this fall to include:

  • Two additional nurse practitioners
  • Collaborating physicians
  • Registered nurses
  • Social workers
  • A registered dietitian
  • A pharmacist

The Georgian Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic has relocated from Bell Farm Road to the Georgian College Barrie Campus in the Sadlon Centre for Health and Wellness (M Building). The clinic is located in room M139.

If you have a valid Ontario Health Card and do not have a health care provider in the area, you may apply to become a patient. If you would like to inquire, please call the clinic for details at 705-722-1581.
