Program description
This one-year certificate program is suitable for a variety of students. The program is designed to let students obtain many of the courses they’ll need in preparation for the first year in a health science program of their choice.
For students who want to upgrade their marks to improve their standing or get a head start in the health care career of their choice, this is the program to take. When students are ready, there is a built-in opportunity to take advantage of the optimum transfer credits received in the program to advance into a selected health sciences program.

Lab/professional experience
Lab sessions provide the practical, hands-on experience that enables students to connect concepts and truly understand the material. Labs are provided in chemistry, physics, and biology. They are the fun, active part of the learning.
Program opportunities
Pre-Health graduates move on to other programs of study in the fields of nursing, paramedicine, dental hygiene/assisting, massage therapy and veterinary technician. When they move on, they feel well prepared for these goal programs.
*New: college preparation/learning strategies course
This course aids the student to perform successfully in college by understanding his or her personal learning style, study environment, and personality as well as multiple and emotional intelligence skills.
Skills learned include setting goals, managing time, reading textbooks for maximum learning and taking effective notes from lectures and books. All of this will be useful for students in their future studies.
