Leslie Casey has taught ESL at Georgian College since 2006. Prior to coming to Barrie, she lived in the Northwest Territories for several years, teaching ESL to high school students from across Northern Canada. Leslie enjoys meeting and spending time with the international students and invites them to come in and say “Hello” .

Prior to becoming a teacher, Tom has worked within the EAP department as a student volunteer for both the homework and chat clubs. He enjoys working with the international students and learning about their countries, languages, and cultures.  Tom is always impressed by the courage of international students to study another language in another country and hopes he can help each student get one step closer to their goals and dreams for the future.  When Tom is not busy with school, marking tests, and making lesson plans, he enjoys keeping a saltwater aquarium, playing guitar, reading, and listening to various types of music.

Tamara has been teaching ESL and EAP at Georgian College since 1999. She has also taught ESL in Mexico, Brazil and Iran. Tamara enjoys helping students learn idioms and improve their pronunciation. She looks forward to welcoming you to Georgian College.

John worked in South Korea for nearly 8 years. He worked at a language school in Iksan and at Ewha Woman’s University in Seoul. He was the Director of Native Instructors at Chung Ang University in Anseong, Seoul. He has been working as an instructor at Georgian College since 2008.

Meghan began her teaching career in 2009 in Sydney Australia, where she taught IELTS preparation courses and Business English.  She then returned to Canada and taught at the University of Toronto for a summer before returning home to Barrie to teach at Georgian College.
As part of the EAP faculty here at Georgian, Meghan really enjoys working with her colleagues to provide students with the skills, confidence, and preparation needed in order for them to pursue their goals once they leave the classroom. 
She has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, a Master of Arts in Communication, and a graduate diploma in Public Relations. Meghan is also TESL Canada certified.

McHardy, Virginia, B.A.

Virginia has been teaching ESL since 1992.  She is a member of TESL Ontario and has a wide range of experience teaching LINC, ESL and EAP.  She taught college ESL programs for 7 years before moving to Barrie, Ontario.

Stephen has over 20 years of experience teaching International students the English language. He has travelled extensively in Europe, Asia and the Middle East and has studied the Chinese, French and Greek languages.

Alicja has taught English in Poland (her home country) for over a year before returning to Ontario to teach in Barrie. She speaks fluent English and Polish.  Alicja enjoys meeting new students, and connecting with them through the English language. Her favourite part of teaching is motivating her students to succeed. Alicja loves trying new things, and encourages her students to take full advantage of the sights and experiences in Barrie, Ontario, and Canada!

Linda has been teaching ESL and EAP since 1998. She has been teaching at Georgian College since 2003. Linda loves meeting students from all over the world and helping them improve their English. Linda enjoys learning about other countries and having fun in the classroom.

Corinne Whitney

Corinne has been working at Georgian College in Canada since 1999. She began her Georgian career at the Automotive Institute and moved to the EAP (English for Academic Purposes) program as an instructor in early 2001. She has been a part of the Georgian College ESL program for ten years now helping International students to study and speak English and integrate their lives into Canadian culture.

Mary has been teaching ESL (English as a Second Language) in Canada since 1996 and has been helping International and Canadian students study English at Georgian College since 2006. She believes in order to learn English, a student must be given the chance to speak English. Mary enjoys seeing her students improve their English and succeed in their language goals.
