Georgian scored above the Ontario college average in almost all categories of the 2011/2012 Key Performance Indicators (KPI) survey released April 18. Among the highlights, 86.8 per cent of Georgian grads in the labour force found work within six months of graduating. The provincial average is 83 per cent.

“Our consistently high rankings in these provincial reviews of our performance over more than a decade show we are providing students with the higher education they need to fulfill their career ambitions,” says Brian Tamblyn, President and CEO of Georgian College.”
"I am especially pleased that our graduates continue to find work during the current economic downturn. These results reflect the strength of our partnerships and strategic alliances with business and industry and their confidence in our programs and graduates."

Georgian results on the KPI survey exceeded the provincial college average in all four main categories: employer, graduate and student satisfaction and graduate employment. The key KPI findings include:

  • Employer satisfaction with the quality of the educational preparation of college graduates was 93.8 per cent at Georgian (93.2 per cent for all colleges across Ontario)
  • Graduate satisfaction with the usefulness of their college education was 82.8 per cent at Georgian (79.1 per cent for all colleges)
  • Student satisfaction with the overall quality of services, programming and resources was 77.8 per cent at Georgian (76.8 per cent for all colleges)
  • The graduate employment rate was 86.8 per cent at Georgian (83.0 per cent for all colleges)

Since 1998, the provincial KPI data have been gathered annually by two independent research firms for Ontario’s 24 colleges and the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities. The most recent data was collected from March 2011 to February 2012.
