Georgian hosts career information session and employer panel for graduates
Georgian’s Centre for Co-operative Education, Internship and Career Services hosted a career information session and employer panel July 15 at the Barrie Campus for students in their final semester at the College.
The event gave graduating students an opportunity to gather valuable information from the Registrar’s Office, University Partnership Centre, Career Centre, the Alumni Office and the Greater Barrie Business Enterprise Centre.
The event also featured a panel discussion with human resources representatives from the City of Barrie, County of Simcoe, Orillia Power and Georgian.
Employers talked about candidate screening, resumé and interview tips and job search mistakes to avoid. Participants also received pertinent information about how to find a job after graduation, valuable insight into the employers’ perspective and resources and services available to them as Georgian alumni.
The Centre for Co-operative Education hopes to grow the event and make it an annual occurrence.
