Georgian College is launching a unique recruitment effort to draw potential students to its website – offering downloads of free music in “Put Georgian on your playlist.”

“At Georgian College we are committed first and foremost to excellence in teaching and learning, but we are also dedicated to supporting the creative endeavours of our students and the rest of our Georgian family,” says Carrie Shaw, Director of Corporate Marketing and Communications. “This new campaign is a great way to draw people to our website at the same time.  It’s a giveaway that’s unique, fun…and green!”

The campaign features original music created by Georgian staff, students and alumni.  The songs are available as free downloads on choosegeorgian.ca/playlist.  Playlist also features a few non-Georgian songs as bonus tracks from Barrie and area musicians.  People are encouraged to visit the site frequently as new songs will be added throughout the year.

“The support from Georgian College to their staff, students and area musicians is something very special and rare,” says Amy Campbell, a local musician and graduate of Georgian’s Graphic Design program.  “I was thrilled to be asked to be a part of playlist. I think this is a fabulous initiative and a great way to support the local music community.”

Playlist will be promoted at various college information sessions and at high schools across Ontario.
