Georgian College Orillia Campus installs automated defibrillator units
Two Zoll AED Plus units (pictured) were recently installed at Georgian’s Orillia Campus. These units are located in the fitness centre and in the first floor lobby beside the elevator.
There are 10 full-time staff members and 10 part-time fitness centre staff members trained in the use of AEDs at the Orillia Campus.
AEDs NOW AT ALL GEORGIAN CAMPUSES
Georgian installed Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) at its seven campuses and the Kempenfelt Conference Centre through the County of Simcoe Paramedic Services Public Access Defibrillation (PAD) program last summer.
Defibrillation, combined with CPR, can improve cardiac arrest survival rates by up to 50 per cent if delivered in the first few minutes.
