Tickets are now available for Georgian’s Gord Bastian Variety Show. This annual presentation of music and comedy will unleash its unique brand of fun in March with two special shows.

Variety 18 Goes to the Movies promises to deliver the quality entertainment audiences have grown to expect from the show over the past 17 years. Every year the show builds on its successful formula of song, comedy and dance.

This year’s theme once again provides the perfect backdrop for the antics of Andrea Murray, the show’s master of ceremonies. Her performance alone is worth the admission price.

“We are really excited about this year’s show,” said Elaine Murray, director of the annual production. “The movie theme allows us to boldly go where no one has gone before.”

All proceeds from the show go toward helping financially challenged Georgian students as well as the Gord Bastian Memorial Entrance Award.

Gord, founder of the annual show, passed away in the spring of 1999. Since then, his warm personality and great stage presence have inspired all those who knew him and College staff and students continue to entertain audiences in his honour.

Variety 18 Goes to the Movies will be held at the Georgian College Theatre, Barrie Campus. Show times are 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 24 and Thursday, March 25. The doors open 30 minutes prior to show time.

Tickets are $10, $5 for seniors, alumni and students. Tickets can be purchased at the Barrie Campus from Athletics, Students’ Administrative Council, Bear Essentials and the Barrie Campus Bookstore. Tickets will be available at the Orillia Campus Bookstore as well.

For more information about the show, contact Elaine at ext. 1003 or emurray@georgianc.on.ca.
