Georgian College Interior Decorating students attend CityLine taping

Submitted by mscanlan on Wednesday, 3 February 2010No Comment

Students in Georgian’s new Interior Decorating program visited CityLine on Jan. 26. CityLine is one of Canada’s longest-running lifestyle shows.

The excursion was organized by Mary Dobson, an instructor in the Interior Decorating program and an interior designer who makes frequent appearances on the show. Mary teaches design history, decorating finishes, furnishings and materials.

The trip gave students first-hand exposure to the production of a lifestyle show and the opportunity to view the dynamics of decorating consultation with a live audience. It also presented the chance to promote both the Interior Design (2YR), Interior Design (3YR) and Interior Decorating programs offered at Georgian.

The segment can be viewed at http://video.citytv.com/video/64025921001/CityLine-Feb-2-2010-Decor-Panel/.

Interior Decorating, a two-year diploma program, is recognized by the Canadian Decorators Association. Graduates have the knowledge and skills to interpret client requirements, create innovative interiors and pursue employment in the decorating field.

The program began in September at the Barrie Campus.
