Ontario college graduates are now able to study abroad and secure an honours degree in two years, thanks to a new agreement with the Institutes of Technology Ireland (IOTI).  In some cases, graduates of three-year programs will be able to obtain honours degrees with one further year of study.

Currently, the degree completion opportunities in Ireland apply to the following Georgian programs:

  • Business (Marketing, Human Resource Management, Accounting and Business Administration)
  • Hospitality Management and Hospitality Administration

“As a college committed to pathways and credit transfer for our students, I am thrilled to see that this relationship with Ireland has been finalized,” says Vice President, Academic, Linda Love.  “Students will now not only have an opportunity to complete their undergraduate degree abroad, they will also benefit from becoming global citizens, a critical asset for workers in the future. “

Students will need to ensure that they are aware of the academic bridging requirements related to their program of study at the specific Irish Institute that they wish to attend.  Also, it is the responsibility of the student to ensure that the credentials they acquire in Ireland will be recognized by the appropriate professional bodies in Ontario, if applicable.

Application forms are available for download at www.ioti.ie and are to be submitted by May 31 for the Sept. 1 academic start. For more information on this exciting opportunity, please visit www.collegesontario.org.
