Harambee 4 Humanity is hosting the screening of the film A Small Act at the Orillia Campus Nov. 5.
An official selection at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival, A Small Act tells the story of two very unlikely philanthropists whose modest acts of charity shine a light on the incredible power of giving. Local drummers and a Kenyan craft sale will open the evening. Proceeds from the night’s screening will directly benefit Harambee 4 Humanity’s current projects in Kenya, which include the building of a primary school and the organization of women’s co-operatives.
Doors will open at 6:15 p.m. for those who would like to view or buy items from Kenya (purchased only from women’s co-operatives) and listen to local drummers. The movie will begin at 7 p.m. Admission is $20, with 100 per cent of the proceeds being directed to Harambee 4 Humanity projects.
Tickets may be purchased from Kyla at (705) 327-2813, or info@harambee4humanity.org.
