Erik Snow has been named the Manager, Community Liaison, First Generation Project. This is a new contract position that is funded through the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.
Erik will report to Carrie Shaw, Director, Corporate Marketing and Communications, and will oversee a “recruitment-to-success” strategy that targets first generation students, primarily those living in rural and remote communities. First generation refers to those individuals who are the first in their families to pursue a post secondary education. In his new role, Erik will be working closely with staff members involved in Second Career Strategy and Aboriginal programs as well as the College Marketing and Recruitment Team.
For the past two years, Erik has been employed as a Marketing and Recruitment Specialist in Engineering Technology. During this time, Erik gained extensive knowledge of the various programs and services offered by the College as well as the marketing and recruitment process.
Erik graduated from the Business Administration - Marketing diploma program with Honours in 2004. He also has the OMVIC Automotive Certification from Georgian College. Presently Erik is completing his Bachelor of Business Administration through Laurentian at Georgian.
Erik was a student member of Georgian’s Board of Governors from 2003 to 2004. In this role, he acted as a liaison between the student government and the Board to ensure representation of the 5,000-strong student body to the Board and senior management.
