Georgian is connected
Over the past several months, I have held many discussions with stakeholder groups at the College and across the community. I am always eager to discover what they view Georgian’s strengths to be. The answers to that question have been numerous, which is not surprising for an institution that is now 43 years old, with a total of 10,000 full-time students and an alumni roll that has grown to some 55,000 graduates. In distilling all the factors that have been integral to our growth and success, there is one recurring theme that emerges above all others and can be summarized in one, simple word – connected.
Connected in community partnerships
Connected in the nurturing and supportive way we promote student success. Connected in the partnerships we have built with industry, governments, community organizations, and corporate donors that allow Georgian to keep pace with change and maintain the highest academic standards. Connected in how we work with thousands of employers across Canada that laid the groundwork for Georgian to become the largest co-operative education college in the country. The extent to which the community values Georgian socially for the many charitable activities that our students and staff are engaged in, frequently in aid of those less fortunate.
Vision 2015
The Georgian College Board of Governors recently approved a new strategic plan for Georgian College. Vision 2015 addresses current and long-term strategic priorities, and positions Georgian College for future growth as a post-secondary leader in Ontario. Visit the Strategic Plan page to see how Georgian’s exciting new mission, To inspire innovation, transform lives and connect communities through the power of education, will be brought to life.
Our legacy
Georgian’s values and past achievements will continue to be the foundation for our success in the future. Above all else, we will remain true to our legacy of staying connected with our students, the employers, and the communities that we are privileged to serve.
