Meet Georgian College’s President and CEO

MaryLynn West-Moynes, President Georgian College

Georgian College President MaryLynn West-Moynes

Dr. MaryLynn West-Moynes brings extensive academic and administrative experience in post-secondary education in Ontario, having held senior positions at both the college and university level.

She has served as Vice President of External Relations at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT), President of Mohawk College, and in numerous senior leadership roles at both UOIT and Durham College.

Throughout her career, MaryLynn has demonstrated an unwavering focus on understanding students and meeting their needs. MaryLynn has extensive experience leading strategic planning; championing co-operative education, international and curriculum initiatives; and forging innovative college and university partnerships and pathways.

She has also been responsible for establishing community, government and industry relationships, leading student services, marketing, communications, branding and fundraising teams, and undertaking major financial management and capital expansion projects.

MaryLynn received her PhD from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto. Her research examined organizational culture and leadership skills in Ontario colleges. She holds an MA in adult education from Central Michigan University and a BASc from the University of Guelph.

Community-minded, she has served on numerous volunteer boards and committees throughout her career.

MaryLynn was officially installed as Georgian College’s President and CEO at a special ceremony at the Barrie Campus on Oct. 11, 2012.
