Meet the Senior Team

Linda Love, VP Academic

sr-team-linda Linda Love is Vice President Academic at Georgian College. With more than 20 years of progressive leadership experience in the Ontario College system, Linda assumed the VPA’s position at Georgian in March, 2006.

She previously held a variety positions at Sheridan Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning that included Professor of Early Childhood Education, Chair of Nursing, Director of Educational Services and Dean of Community and Liberal Studies. In her current role, she is responsible for program development and quality assurance for more than 90 full time programs at Georgian College, including a variety of apprenticeship, certificate, diploma and degree programs as well as a number of government funded preparatory academic programs at all seven Georgian sites.

As part of her portfolio, Linda also oversees Georgian’s Continuing Education activity, Aboriginal programming, International activity and the University Partnership Centre, which brings a mix of graduate and undergraduate degree programs to the community and Georgian College through partnerships with seven university partners. During her career, she has served on a variety of regional, provincial and national committees and boards, including the Canadian Deaf Blind and Rubella Association, the Sheridan Elder Research Centre Board of Directors and Success by Six: Council of Champions–Region of Peel.

She is actively involved with the National Executive Leadership Institute for aspiring vice presidents sponsored by the Association of Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC) and is co-chair of the provincial Coordinating Committee of Vice Presidents Academic. She is also a member of the Ontario College Quality Assurance Service Board. Linda holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Western Ontario and a Masters in Education – Interdisciplinary Studies from Brock University.

Georgian College VP John Donald

Dr. John Donald is Georgian’s Vice President, Community and Business Development. The creation of this new senior position was announced in March 2010 as part of organizational restructuring designed to support Georgian’s new “Vision 2015” Strategic Plan. Accountabilities for this position include International Recruitment and Development, English as a Second Language/English for Academic Purposes, Regional Campuses, Alumni, Awards/Scholarships, Fundraising/Capital Campaigns, Kempenfelt Conference Centre, Community and Government Programs, School-College Work Initiatives, and Government Relations.

John has over 18 years in senior management and leadership positions, both in industry consulting and post-secondary education. Most recently, John served as Vice President, Business Development, Applied Research and External Relations, at Conestoga College. In addition, he held a variety of administrative positions at Conestoga, including Dean of Engineering Technology and Director of Educational Technology (including online learning).

As Vice President, Business Development, Applied Research and External Relations, at Conestoga, John was responsible for leadership and management of International Education, the Conestoga Language Institute, Continuing Education, Applied Research, the School of Career and Academic Access, Career Centre and International English Language Testing Service. In this role, John was actively involved in external and government relations on behalf of the college. This work led to many opportunities for Conestoga, including the establishment of a new college training centre in Ingersoll, the development of an international partnership with Laurier University, and the establishment of a funded chair in Workforce Development.

John has also been an active member on Ontario college system committees including the Workforce Development Co-ordinating Committee, and as chair of the college system’s Colleges Integrating Immigrants to Employment (CIITE) project.

In the private sector, he held several management positions in the information technology/software development field where he led project teams and quality assurance processes.

John acquired a Doctorate of Philosophy (Civil Engineering) from the University of Waterloo in 1993. He also holds a Masters of Applied Science and a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Waterloo.

Brandon Lander, VP, Administration

sr-team-brandon Brandon Lander is the Vice President, Administration, at Georgian College. He joined Georgian in October 1984 as a Financial Planning Analyst and shortly thereafter became Director, Financial Planning. He moved to his current position in 1992.

Brandon is responsible for the management of a diverse portfolio of activities and departments, including Physical Resources (including construction, renovations, security, food services, janitorial services, parking), Accounting, Financial Planning, General Administration, Legal, Risk Management, Purchasing, Printing, Shipping / Receiving / Mail Services, Bookstore Services, Information Technology, Telecommunications, and Media Services.  Brandon also serves as the Secretary-Treasurer to Georgian’s Board of Governors.

Brandon previously worked in the university sector and banking sector in management positions. He holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree and Master of Arts degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Master of Business Administration from York University.

sr-team-bob-7 Bob Kennedy is the Vice President, Marketing and Student Services at Georgian College. He joined Georgian in July 1990 as Director of College Information Services, later re-named Corporate Marketing and Communications.

Bob is part of a talented and dedicated team in Marketing and Student Services whose key functions include Corporate Marketing and Communications, Student Services (including counseling, co-op education, Students’ Administrative Council, student residence and housing) and Library Services.

Bob previously worked in the public and private sectors of the marketing and communications field. He holds a Bachelor of Journalism, Honours degree from Carleton University and worked in Halifax and Ottawa as a radio and television news and sports broadcaster.

Bob resides in Barrie with his wife, Debbie. They have three grown children.

Bob was a recipient of the Georgian College Board of Governors’ “Award of Excellence” in May 1998.

Angela Lockridge, VP Human Resources and Organizational Planning Angela Lockridge is Vice President, Human Resources and Organizational Planning at Georgian College. Angela is a seasoned executive with a wealth of experience in the private and public sectors. Beginning her career with General Motors of Canada, Angela moved into the Ontario Public Service.  Most recently she has served as Assistant Deputy Minister within the Family Responsibility Office, ServiceOntario and the Ontario Provincial Police.  During her 20 years in the OPS she also held positions in the Ministry of Correctional Services, Ministry of the Solicitor General, Ministry of the Attorney General and Management Board Secretariat.

Angela joined the Georgian team in July 2010 and has expertise in the areas of human resource management, organizational development, diversity and accessibility, relationship building, strategic planning, change management and transformation, performance accountability, client services, and fiscal and systems management. She has led major strategic initiatives within the Ontario Public Service, working with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders to create positive and effective relationships and business systems.

In her current role, Angela is accountable for Organizational Planning and Development (including Strategic Planning, Institutional Research, and Space Planning), Human Resources, Employment Equity and Labour Relations. Angela has provided strategic support and advice while ensuring that human resource plans are aligned with corporate direction including leadership development, succession planning, learning and development, formal recognition, staff engagement strategies, and measurement/accountability systems.

Angela holds an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from Wilfrid Laurier University and is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
