MTAP Mechanical Engineering Technology - Automotive Product Design
Crazy about cars?
You'll be in good company in an Automotive Products Design class. Most of our students love vehicles, and often have modified their own car. This program combines the principles of mechanical engineering with the creativity of art. Graduates will work in the automotive parts industry that supplies the components of cars to the larger automakers.
What's Special
We created the Automotive Products Design program in response to the needs of manufacturers. Much of the design work that had been done at the automaker level was shifted to the parts makers. Although you will understand the concept of complete car design, our focus is teaching you to design the individual parts that make up the car - everything from a wheel, to a heating system, to a running board. And one day, you could spot a car on the highway and realize you designed a part of it!
