PETY Power Engineering Technology (Co-op)
The Power is yours
The three-year Power Engineering Technology (co-op) program will provide you with the in-depth training required to gain employment as a power engineering technologist. This is an in-demand career with plenty of opportunity to advance into high-paying positions.
What's Special
Subjects of instruction in the three-year program will closely follow the Standardized Power Engineers Examination Committee (SOPEEC) syllabus and prepare students to challenge the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA) examinations up to 2nd class after three years as an operator. Plus, students in the program will train on some of the most up-to-date equipment in the country and will benefit from the mandatory co-op component.
Careers
The graduate of this program could find a rewarding career as a stationary engineering technologist or power plant control technologist in a wide variety of industries including electrical power generating plants, heavy and lighter industries, schools, hospitals and other commercial buildings. This may include operation of a small-scale power plant such as those that exist in remote northern aboriginal communities.
