It’s About Respect.

Our Respect Campaign is a reminder; respect lives in our community, relationships, environment, and self and we must promote and stand up for it!

Our Respect Campaign is meant to raise public awareness, to make civility a topic of discussion, to help raise the bar in terms of our expectations when it comes to behavior, and to prepare students for the expectations in the work world.

Our Respect Campaign signals a need for us to challenge some of the attitudes, beliefs and behaviours that fail to recognize human dignity and to model and teach appropriate ways to interact.

Our Respect Campaign emphasizes that Georgian needs to be accessible to a broad spectrum of students. Acceptance of diversity includes race, colour, gender, sexual orientation, religion, intellectual capacity, body shape, disability, age, family background, parental status and socio-economic background.

Our Respect Campaign solidifies that respect is a human right! Georgian College is committed to providing a positive and enabling environment for all students to learn and work with understanding and respect for individual and group differences. Georgian upholds the position of the Ontario Human Rights Code which states that it is public policy in Ontario to recognize the dignity and worth of every person and to provide for equal rights and opportunities without discrimination.
