Program Coordinator - Digital Photography & Imaging
With over 15 years in visual communication Tony
brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in new media design
and production which will benefit students at Georgian. Having
begun with still photography and audio-visual production,
he adopted the computer as the tool of choice back in 1985
to create graphics, animation, user interfaces, photomontage
for use in many applications, ranging from multi-projector
slide shows, CD-ROM games, videos, web sites and print material.
Tony has worked for many clients in diverse locations and
projects which has given him a comprehensive understanding
of the production values expected in the new media industry.
While mostly self taught, he has a B.A. from Mt. Allison University
and certificates in Electronic and Film Media from the Banff
Centre and New Media Project Management from the Bell Centre
for Creative Communications (Centennial College) and other
courses in specific areas such as animation and interface
design. In addition to many freelance projects, he has been
a partner in a multimedia production company as well as a
graphics and interface designer for a software developer,
both located in Toronto.
Tony's teaching experience goes back to 1980 where he taught
photography for several years as a part-time instructor at
Grant McEwan Community College and then at the University
of Alberta. Happy to be teaching again, this time at Georgian
and Tony really enjoys helping students learn what they need
to know in using the "tools of the trade" in new
media graphic design and production.
