Foundations of Post-Secondary Teaching Series

This series is designed to facilitate thinking and/or re-thinking about how the foundations of post-secondary teaching and learning apply to the current educational context. It can be of value to teachers at all career stages, and will offer opportunities to:

  • revisit foundational concepts in light of the current classroom and educational context;
  • consider how foundational ideas of teaching and learning apply to the facilitation of learning;
  • exchange ideas with other faculty about how concepts apply to educational practice.

These sessions will be offered on Wednesdays from 10 to 12pm, starting May 16, 2012.

Join us for this series. Note: You must participate in Part 1 in order to participate in any of the other sessions. You do not need to take all 5, although that is our recommendation.

  • Part 1: Post-Secondary Learners and Learning (pre-requisite for the other sessions) – May 16
  • Part 2: Planning Instruction – May 23
  • Part 3: Active Learning – May 30
  • Part 4: Post-Secondary Assessment – June 6
  • Part 5: Designing Assignments – June 13
