The Teaching and Learning Open Forums are full-day events designed to promote constructive dialogue among educators about various aspects of teaching practice and build a stronger teaching community at Georgian. The day includes open / closing activities, small group discussions and a lovely lunch. The Centre for Teaching and Learning has hosted this event regularly since 2002 and before introducing our Focus on Teaching Conference in the spring, it was held twice a year.
This event is based on a meeting format called Open Space Technology, where participants play an active role in determining the agenda and facilitating the dialogue for small group discussions. It has always been quite popular and many who attend find it to be the best professional development event of the year.
