Refunds & Exchanges

No refunds or exchanges can be accepted without your receipt. Books must be in “as new” condition to be accepted for return. There will be no refunds or exchanges of books during the first week of classes, and all returns must be made within 10 business days from the date of purchase. Please read the return policy that is attached to your receipt at the time of purchase.

Refunds will be issued in the same method they where purchased in. Debit or credit cards must accompany requests for refund to these payment methods.

Please present items for refund to the security guard on duty or a cashier immediately upon entering the store.

Important: With shrink-wrapped book sets, or books containing tapes or software it will usually be the case that such items are non-returnable under any circumstances once the wrapping has been broken. This policy has been set by the publishers, not the Bookstore.

Please Note: We recommend that textbooks not be bought on speculation. The rules for returns, as stated above remain unchanged by the fact that a book has not been read, nor used in class; nor, if the receipt is missing, that it was bought only an hour ago. Receipt rule, time limits and mint condition policy will be observed.

Other Merchandise

Items may be returned within 10 working days, with receipt, providing price stickers are attached (where possible) and that items are unused, unaltered and are in their original packaging.

Non-Returnable Items

Sale merchandise, diskettes, food items, personalized items, any other items marked “final sale”, special orders i.e. textbooks, jackets, rings or speciality items.

Damaged Goods Refunds or exchange for defective items must be authorized by the Manager, Bookstore Services or designate. Every effort will be made to satisfy requests in an equitable manner. All “Sale items” are final sales.

Locker Rental

Lockers are rented from the Bookstore on a first come first serve basis starting one week prior to class, this gives each student an equal opportunity for the location of their choice. There will be no advance rental of lockers. Lockers will be rented for the academic year September to August. A coloured tag will be issued at the time of rental, this tag must be displayed on the shaft of the lock as proof of payment, locks without tags will be removed. Students wishing to rent a locker for the fall semester only can apply for a refund at the end of the semester upon return of the locker tag and presentation of receipt. Students renting a locker in either January or May will be charged only half the yearly rental fee. The locker rental term ends August the 10th and contents must be removed by this date. Lockers that have not been emptied by this date will have the lock cut and the contents removed. Payment of a $25.00 administrative fee will be required to retrieve your locker contents from storage. Locker contents will only be stored for a brief period before being disposed of.

At no time is The Georgian College Bookstore or Georgian College itself responsible for the contents of lockers.
