Lapidary and Gem Cutting

Students in this course concentrate on various aspects of the cutting and polishing of stones as related to the jewellery and fine metals trade. Students investigate various cuts of stones, including cabochon and facetted. Students also investigate techniques including channel inlay and carving. Students incorporate some finished products into actual pieces of jewellery or hollowware.
