Orientation and first-year transition programs

New Student Orientation at Georgian

Orientation sets the tone for your college career. Whether you’re a mature student, directly out of high school, transferring, commuting, coming from another country or whatever your situation, orientation is your chance to connect!

Meet the faculty: Introduce yourself and spark new relationships with our President, professors, academic deans and program coordinators

Follow the flow: Learn first-hand what your classes will be like and ask questions about textbooks, papers or missed classes

Free your mind: Students who attend Orientation feel more connected and comfortable on campus

Get a head start: Learn about the resources that will help contribute to your overall success

Get involved: Student clubs, on-campus jobs and volunteer work are waiting for people just like you

Supercharged services: Find out how to get help with study skills, tutoring and counselling, and learn about our athletic facilities and programs

All scheduled academic classes will begin on January 22 at 12 noon.

Visit the campus tabs to see what’s happening at your specific Georgian location – be sure to check back regularly for updates!

First Year Eperience office

Georgian College’s First Year Experience office is a drop-in centre providing a warm welcome and transition programming for new all students. We’re here to help you navigate campus, learn more about student services, find a Peer Mentor or get involved with events, programming and activities on campus. Visit our “Ask Us!” tables set up throughout the college or stop by our office on the second floor of C Building, at the top of the stairs above the Bear Essentials bookstore.
